150th Anniversary Mass for Sisters of Mercy Education
Congratulations to the Sisters of Mercy, whose founding Sisters arrived in Singleton from Ireland on 31 August 1875 to begin the Mercy’s long years of ministry in the Diocese of Maitland- Newcastle. A Mass to mark this occasion, will be celebrated at 10am on 31 August 2025 in St Patrick’s Church, Singleton followed by morning tea in St Catherine’s College and we would love to see past students, staff and parishioners there to help celebrate!
After morning tea, you are invited to share a Ritual of Remembrance in the Convent Chapel and Cemetery to honour the women who gave their lives in service to the Diocese. All welcome.
St Catherine’s College will also be open for tours until 2pm on this day with a display of memorabilia in the school hall.
